A feast for all the senses: Enjoy award winning wines during the iconic Santorini sunset

Santorini is one of the most famous islands in the world, and anyone who has been there can tell you why: A prehistoric volcanic eruption created a caldera, turning what was once a round island into a narrow rock crescent, and picturesque Cycladic villages cling to the sides of the vibrantly coloured cliffs.

Some of Greece’s best wines come from this region; the grapes thrive in the volcanic soil. And what better time to taste excellent wines than during the spectacular Santorini sunset.

On this exclusive wine tour, you’ll visit three different wineries on Santorini and learn about the island’s unique viticulture. Look forward to enjoying some of Greece’s finest wines accompanied by local cheeses and snacks as the sun bathes the caldera in an orange-gold glow before sinking into the sea.

Dates

This exclusive wine tour runs every day except on Sundays between May and October. A minimum of 2 people is required for the tour to take place.


WHAT TO EXPECT
We collect you from your accommodation in a luxuriously equipped, air-conditioned mini-van. We will inform you exactly when we will collect from your accommodation once you have booked your tour, as this varies according to the season and the time of the sunset.

During our four-hour tour of the island, you are accompanied by a wine expert and visit three of Santorini’s most renowned wineries. Along the way, you learn why wine growing on Santorini is so unique. The island was one of the first in the Mediterranean to cultivate and press wine. On our visits to the wineries, you have the opportunity to see where the wines are bottled and matured.

At each winery, you have the opportunity to taste four excellent wines, accompanied by local specialities. The last winery we visit is situated slightly higher on the volcanic cliffs of the island. This great location offers us an incredible view of the sun as it sinks into the sea over the caldera during the wine tasting.

After an unforgettable evening, we transfer you back to your accommodation on Santorini.

What are the age restrictions for this tour?
As this day trip is explicitly dedicated to wine, it is only suitable for adults aged 18 and over.

What language is the tour conducted in?
This tour is only offered in English.

What meals are included in the tour price?
All meals and drinks at the various stops as described in the itinerary are included in the tour price. Additional meals and drinks must be paid extra. Please inform us when booking the tour if you have any special food intolerances or would like to request a vegetarian option. Vegan options are unfortunately not available on this tour.

How difficult is the tour?
The tour is not particularly demanding. It is rather a van escorted gourmet tour with short walks around the wineries.
