Sailing Day on the Athens Riviera or to Aigina

Mediterranean getaway under billowing sails

What could be better than spending a day breathing in the sea air, swimming in the most beautiful bays, and leaving all your worries behind for a while?

If you fancy some time away at sea, this sailing day on the Athens Riviera is perfect for you. Come aboard our sailing yacht and sail the blue expanses of the Saronic Gulf for a full day with an experienced skipper.

Depending on which way the wind blows, we’ll either head for Cape Sounion with its wonderful Temple of Poseidon or the pistachio island of Aegina.

Let your mind drift along with the breeze! Enjoy the beauty of the sea, swim in dreamlike bays, or use the SUP, sea scooter, or kayak equipment provided free of charge onboard. If you like, our skipper can also teach you the basics of sailing.

  • Be a sailor for a day: Enjoy a Mediterranean break under full sail
  • Dive into the refreshing water: Experience the most beautiful bathing bays
  • A sprinkling of culture: Visit either the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion or stroll through the colorful harbor villages on the island of Aigina

This tour can be booked every Monday and Wednesday between June and October. A minimum of 4 participants is required. Groups of 6-10 persons can book this sailing tour on any other day of the week on request.

Our sailing day starts at Marina Alimos near Athens, which is just a 30-minute drive from Athens Airport or about 1 hour’s drive from the city centre. Check in on board by 9 am and then it’s time to cast off!

Our cruise has no fixed itinerary, as on a sailing ship we are dependent on the wind and weather conditions. We either head for Cape Sounion in the very south of Attica or the island of Aegina in the Saronic Gulf. The latter is sheltered between the Greek mainland and the Peloponnese.

The size of the yachts varies from 40 feet to 50 feet, depending on the size of the group. Even without sailing experience, you are warmly welcome on board: Skipper Ilias will not only navigate safely through the blue expanses of the Saronic Gulf but will also be happy to show you the basics of sailing.

Typically, a day goes like this: We enjoy a wonderful crossing with swim stops in hidden bays along the way during which you can use all the water sports equipment available on board for free. We also make a longer stop ashore for a bite to eat and a stroll.

If we go to Sounion, you will have the opportunity to visit the impressive Temple of Poseidon from the 5th century BC.

If the wind brings us to Aegina, you can take a walk through the picturesque island capital and stock up on local pistachio products of all kinds.

After a wonderful day full of beautiful experiences, fresh sea air, and swimming, we arrive back at Marina Alimos at around 8 pm.
