Celebrate the most beautiful time of the year in the capital of Greece during our New Year’s Eve Trip Athens. During Christmas holidays Athens turns into a brightly, lively metropolis. Shining lights in every central street, decorated shops and cozy café-bars, all filled with happy Athenians, are just an example of Athens’ Christmas spirit.
Get excited to indulge yourself in the delicious Greek cuisine and witness the wonderful smells of the freshly baked Christmas delicacies. Also, because Athens and history always go together, be prepared to visit the majestic, world-famous Acropolis and Acropolis museum. Next, a guided hike takes place to the most beautiful hills of Athens, where we enjoy the city’s breath-taking views and even a glimpse to the sea.
Have a blast in a new adventure to historical Cape Sounion and Aegina Island and make sure to take lots of pictures. As for the highlight of the trip, the winner is of course, the gala dinner. Look forward to a divine night in New Year’s Eve with a merrily countdown to midnight and the most colorful fireworks painting the sky above Acropolis.
The Hotel NOMA, with its amazing location in the heart of Athens, will be our cozy host for your New Year’s Eve trip to Athens. Enjoy being pampered by the warm Greek hospitality.
At 6 pm. we meet in the hotel lobby and our guide takes us to a Greek dinner at typical Plaka tavern “To Kafeneion”. In this family style tavern, we savour a rich variety of traditional mezedes.
In the afternoon, we will make an excursion with a private minibus to Cape Sounion. Here we will visit the Temple of Poseidon and enjoy a dinner of fresh cooked fish and seafood by the sea.
The hills are also the perfect place to share fascinating stories and myths about the Greek capital. Later on, you have the freedom to explore on your own the city, enjoy Christmas lights and choose your dinner.
A beautiful spot to take some pictures. Followed by a small tour in Aegina town, there is some time left to enjoy shopping. In the evening, we return to Athens by speed ferry and spend the evening on an individual base.
The Hotel NOMA in a neoclassical building in the heart of Athens ensures with its very central location next to Syntagma Square the top quality of your stay. Your tour guide will inform you of the requirements for the planned tour each day. We strongly recommend that you bring comfortable shoes. Should you prefer to skip the hike and enjoying another activity you are most welcome to do so.
The days with lunch included will be on our hiking day from hill to hill and during our trip in Aegina Island. Also, the 2 dinners will take place in traditional taverns and 1 dinner on New Year’s Eve at the gala.
Drinks are always on the guests own expense with the only exception of the gala New Year’s Eve dinner. There are numerous places to eat in Athens, where Greek traditional food is served. Your tour guide will be happy to give you recommendations for restaurants/taverns for the days, which dinners are not pre-organized, if requested.
