New Year’s Eve Trip Athens

Welcome the year 2024 in Athens

Celebrate the most beautiful time of the year in the capital of Greece during our New Year’s Eve Trip Athens. During Christmas holidays Athens turns into a brightly, lively metropolis. Shining lights in every central street, decorated shops and cozy café-bars, all filled with happy Athenians, are just an example of Athens’ Christmas spirit.

Get excited to indulge yourself in the delicious Greek cuisine and witness the wonderful smells of the freshly baked Christmas delicacies. Also, because Athens and history always go together, be prepared to visit the majestic, world-famous Acropolis and Acropolis museum. Next, a guided hike takes place to the most beautiful hills of Athens, where we enjoy the city’s breath-taking views and even a glimpse to the sea.

Have a blast in a new adventure to historical Cape Sounion and Aegina Island and make sure to take lots of pictures. As for the highlight of the trip, the winner is of course, the gala dinner. Look forward to a divine night in New Year’s Eve with a merrily countdown to midnight and the most colorful fireworks painting the sky above Acropolis.

DAY 1
Individual arrival by plane to Athens airport. Our transfer bus awaits you here and brings you to the centrally located hotel. You can check-in from 2 pm and in the meantime enjoy a walk under the lights of beautifully Christmas decorated Athens.

At 6 pm. we meet in the hotel lobby and our guide takes us to a Greek dinner at typical Plaka tavern “To Kafeneion”. In this family style tavern, we savour a rich variety of traditional mezedes.

DAY 2
Today, we recommend you to have only a small breakfast as we will take you to the best delicacies in Athens. Our awarded guided culinary city stroll surprises you with unlimited good food options. Soon, you will understand why Greeks never stop eating.

In the afternoon, we will make an excursion with a private minibus to Cape Sounion. Here we will visit the Temple of Poseidon and enjoy a dinner of fresh cooked fish and seafood by the sea.

DAY 3
After breakfast at the hotel, our guide takes us to the glorious and breath-taking Acropolis, followed by a breath-taking tour of the Acropolis museum. Afterwards, feel free to enjoy the rest of the day independently until the evening. Then, get dressed and let’s celebrate together the coming of the new year at our gala dinner in a restaurant with Acropolis’ view and of course the phantasmagorical show of fireworks.

DAY 4
Today’s tour includes a wonderful hiking experience. We hike from hill to hill, visiting Lycabettus, Philopappos, Aeropagus and Pnyx etc. These panoramic views of Athens until the Saronic Gulf will certainly give you goosebumps.

The hills are also the perfect place to share fascinating stories and myths about the Greek capital. Later on, you have the freedom to explore on your own the city, enjoy Christmas lights and choose your dinner.

DAY 5
Today we can look forward to a trip in Aegina Island. A transfer takes us to Piraeus, where we board on a ferry to Aegina. On Aegina, we visit the Temple of Aphaia & Monastery of Agios Nektarios and have lunch at picturesque Perdika by the sea.

A beautiful spot to take some pictures. Followed by a small tour in Aegina town, there is some time left to enjoy shopping. In the evening, we return to Athens by speed ferry and spend the evening on an individual base.

DAY 6
Goodbye Athens! Once we have enjoyed our breakfast, it is time to check out from the hotel and return home. A transfer takes us back to Athens Airport, according to flight time, and our trip ends there.

The Hotel NOMA in a neoclassical building in the heart of Athens ensures with its very central location next to Syntagma Square the top quality of your stay. Specifically, Acropolis (500 meters) and the Monastiraki metro station (300 meters) are easily accessible on foot, while commercial streets and café-bars are to be found in every corner. Hotel NOMA with its professional staff and room facilities such as bathrobe, slippers, toiletries, tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer, heating and ironing service, will take good care of you throughout your stay. It also, offers in your comfy accommodation free Wi-Fi and TV.

What are the age requirements for this tour?
As this tour has no special requirements, it is suitable for adults as well as children 6+.

How do i get to Athens?
You can reach Athens via the Eleftherios Venizelos Airport or the ferry port of Piraeus, which connects Athens to a number of Greek islands. Transfers between the airport or the ferry port and your hotel in Athens are included in the tour price.

What language is the tour conducted in?
This tour is offered in English and German.

How difficult is this tour?
Walking and Hiking level 1-2: The walking and hiking tours require a medium level of fitness from participants. The routes have a length of approx. 3 mi./5 km and lead to flat and hilly terrain.

Your tour guide will inform you of the requirements for the planned tour each day. We strongly recommend that you bring comfortable shoes. Should you prefer to skip the hike and enjoying another activity you are most welcome to do so.

What meals are included in the tour price?
Catering on this tour includes 5 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 3 dinners. An “a la carte” breakfast is served every morning in the hotel.

The days with lunch included will be on our hiking day from hill to hill and during our trip in Aegina Island. Also, the 2 dinners will take place in traditional taverns and 1 dinner on New Year’s Eve at the gala.

Drinks are always on the guests own expense with the only exception of the gala New Year’s Eve dinner. There are numerous places to eat in Athens, where Greek traditional food is served. Your tour guide will be happy to give you recommendations for restaurants/taverns for the days, which dinners are not pre-organized, if requested.
