The island of Santorini is a true dream destination of the Mediterranean, and for good reason too: The Queen of the Aegean embodies the very best of Cycladic charm. A violent volcanic eruption in the 16th century BC created a unique landscape with a spectacular caldera and colourful cliffs. The white, cube-shaped houses of the main towns of Fira and Oia create a beautiful contrast clinging to the dark cliffs.
There are countless beautiful spots all over the island, perfect for wonderful photos, and there is so much to see and experience! Our Highlights of Santorini Tour allows you to explore one of the most beautiful Greek islands on your own alongside organised activities.
We arrange wonderful accommodation, transfers between your hotel and the port or airport, and give you the choice of a guided kayak tour along Santorini’s spectacular coastline or an exclusive wine tour of the island or a culinary caldera walk. We also provide you with plenty of great excursion tips and ideas for your remaining free time!
This tour can be booked between April and October and can start on any date/day of the week (subject to hotel availability).
Should you arrive earlier, you are welcome to leave your luggage at the hotel and start exploring the island.
Our partner hotels are located either in the picturesque main town of Fira or in the charming village of Imerovigli, just 3 km / 2 mi. from the island’s capital. Both are a stone’s throw from Santorini’s famous Caldera.
Exclusive Sea Kayak Tour
Our 3-hour sea kayak tour on Santorini is an unforgettable experience. Discover the south coast of the island! The tour starts near the archaeological site of Akrotiri, close to the famous Red Beach. Enjoy unparalleled views of spectacular rock formations, crystal clear waters, and beautiful beaches along the southern coast of the island. During the tour, there will be time to stop for swimming and snorkelling. This is a beginner’s tour where we introduce our guests to the basics of sea kayaking.
Sunset Wine Tasting Tour
Taste Santorini’s acclaimed wines and admire enchanting landscapes in the glow of the setting sun as you get to know three of the island’s most distinguished wineries on a 4-hour wine tasting tour. Learn about the island’s unique viticulture being one of the first places to produce wine in the Mediterranean. Explore the cellars at each winery to see where the wine is bottled and aged and taste some of the best wines each winery has to offer. The best, however, is saved for last: At the end of the day on your visit to the last winery, you will experience the iconic Santorini sunset while sampling the delicious wines along with local cheeses and snacks.
Culinary Caldera Walk
Enjoy Santorini at its tastiest with a local guide by your side! You can look forward to an unforgettable, delicious journey along the picturesque paths that wind along the cliffs of the caldera from Firostefani to Fira. And best of all, we enjoy this unique experience during the most beautiful time of the day: Santorini’s sunset is world-famous for being particularly colourful and truly spectacular. You’ll sample every imaginable local delicacy on this varied foray along the caldera trails and visit delicatessen’s to sample desserts, traditional island dishes, and meze, Greek tapas.
Please let us know at least one week before your trip if you would prefer to do the guided kayak tour or the exclusive wine tour or the culinary caldera walk and on which day you would like to book them.
Tip: Are you finding it difficult to choose just one activity? No problem! You are more than welcome to add another of these activities for an extra charge of 130 euro/person.
There is so much to see and do on Santorini: How about a visit to the famous archaeological site of Akrotiri (also called Pompeii of the Aegean), where the life of the prehistoric islanders was preserved for eternity on the day of the volcanic eruption?
Or why not take a swim at the Red Beach, a boat trip through the caldera to the Thirasia volcano, a hike along the crater rim, or a visit to the island’s wineries? The prehistoric museum in Fira is also well worth a visit.
You could hardly wish for a more varied holiday! Full of wonderful memories, it’s time to say goodbye to Santorini. After checking out of the hotel, we transfer you back to the island’s airport or port, according to your flight/ferry time. Individual journey home or extension of your holiday.
Depending on availability, you will stay either at the Theoxenia Boutique Hotel in Fira or at the Ampelonas Apart Hotel (or equivalent) in Imerovigli, about 3 km / 2 mi. from Fira.
The hotels we book are carefully selected, family-run establishments, characterised by a perfect combination of typical Cycladic charm and maximum comfort.
The hotels are directly connected to the island’s public transport system, so you can easily reach all the island’s major sights.
If you are travelling with younger children, we would be happy to find an attractive alternative for this activity in consultation with you.
