WHAT TO EXPECT
The “Good Morning Meteora Monasteries” tour starts at 9 am in Kalampaka. Here you are given your e-bike and a short introduction about the planned tour itinerary.

And off we go! We head west to Kastraki, where the archaeological area of Meteora begins, and we soon visit our first monastery. The entire complex consists of 24 individual monasteries and hermitages, of which only six are still inhabited today.

The two monasteries we visit on our tour differ depending on the day of the week as the six monasteries are each open to visitors on separate days. Each of the monasteries has a rest day on a different day, so they are never all open at the same time. However, we always aim to visit at least one monastery and one nunnery on our tour.

During this relaxed tour, we stop briefly at all the important sights where your knowledgeable guide shares exciting stories, insider insights, and fascinating facts about the region and its rich history. You are sure to be amazed by the geological, religious, and cultural highlights we see along the way!

There are plenty of opportunities and ample time to enjoy the incredible views and take wonderful photos. The towering rocks with their monasteries floating at dizzying heights are a spectacle that never ceases to amaze.

Throughout the tour, your guide shares the secrets of Meteora with warmth and charm.  There is more than enough time to enjoy both visits to the monasteries and to take photos of the beautiful surroundings.
