Would you like to combine your holiday in Greece with a stay in Athens? Or are you planning a weekend trip to the multifaceted Greek capital? Our Best of Athens tour package allows you to discover the many different facets of the metropolis in only 3 days.
In addition to some prearranged activities, such as a visit to the Acropolis, a dinner in a traditional tavern in Plaka and a guided tour by bike or on food of your choice, you also have plenty of free time to explore Athens on your own. Trust us, it’s worth it!
The 2004 Olympic Games changed the face of the lively 5-million-strong metropolis in a very positive way. Large parts of the city centre were transformed into pedestrian zones and a spacious archaeological park was created, stretching from the Acropolis and the ancient Agora to the Kerameikos, the old pottery and cemetery district.
A walk through the many winding alleys of Plaka, the charming old town quarter, is an unforgettable experience. Here you can not only buy souvenirs of all kinds but also relax in one of the countless cafés and enjoy the Greek lifestyle.
At the end of three varied days, you are sure to have fallen in love with Athens and have already decided that you absolutely have to visit again.
This tour can be booked all year round and can start on any date/day of the week.
Our partner hotels are centrally located in the city centre, with the historic old town of Plaka and the world-famous Acropolis just a stone’s throw away. There is no fixed schedule for your Athens adventure, rather you decide when you would like to take part in the prearranged activities.
Please let us know at least one week before the start of your trip on which activity of your choice you would like to participate and on which day you want to have dinner in Plaka, so that we can book everything accordingly. The vouchers for all the booked activities will be given to you by receptionist of your hotel in Athens.

It offers a perfect introduction to all the most important sights of Athens. The three-hour tour also takes you to great lookout points from where you can see large stretches of the city. A knowledgeable guide leads you safely along roads with little traffic while sharing the exciting history of Athens. This tour is therefore particularly suited to help you find your way in the urban jungle. For this reason, we recommend booking it on the first full day of your trip.
Athens Foodies Tour
What about a culinary tour of Athens? On the Athens Foodies Tour you get to know a whole other dimension of the metropolis by accompanying the Greeks in what they love to do most: Eating. The range of culinary specialities in this city is almost inexhaustible. How could it not be in a city where something is always being cooked somewhere at all times of the day! Soon you will feel just like the Greeks do – bite by bite and sip by sip. As we will be eating a lot, we recommend that you only eat a small breakfast on the day of the tour. This tour is offered from Monday to Saturday.
Mythological Walk in Athens
Have you always been fascinated by the world of Greek mythology? Then Athens is the city for you! On this four-hour walk through the Greek metropolis, you discover the heart of the ancient world and can explore the landmarks of Athens through a mythological lens. Whether at the majestic Temple of Olympian Zeus, on the world-famous Athenian Acropolis or during a stroll through the ancient Agora, once the centre of the city, your guide always has a fascinating and timeless story to share. Your guide’s insightful descriptions help you see behind the facade and decipher the meaning of the myths as well as the real events behind them! This tour is offered daily.
Note: Are you having a hard time choosing and would prefer to take part in several activities? No problem! You are more than welcome to add one of these activities for an extra 70 euro/person.
Entrance to the Athens Archaeological Park (incl. Acropolis)
Without a doubt, a visit to Athens is unimaginable without a visit to the Acropolis as well as some of Athens’ other world-famous archaeological sites, such as the Greek and Roman Agora, the Kerameikos, the the Pnyx and the Temple of Olympian Zeus. For this reason, an entrance ticket for the entire Athens Archaeological Park is included in the tour price. The ticket is valid for a period of three months, so you have complete flexibility regarding the time of your visits to the individual excavation sites. However, we recommend that you visit the Acropolis in the early morning or late afternoon. Not only will you have the best photo light, but you will also avoid the biggest crowds.
Dinner at Tavern To Kafenio
An authentic Greek dinner also awaits you. On an evening of your choice, we will reserve a table for you at your preferred time at the To Kafenio restaurant in Plaka, a delightful traditional taverna in the heart of Athens’ old town. You will dine there á la carte. Drinks are exclusive.
Tip: If you would like to spend even more time in Athens, please do not hesitate to contact us. We can simply extend the program by one or more nights at an extra charge!
Optionally, you can also book other guided activities, such as small hikes in and around Athens, a kayak tour at Cape Sounion or a wine bar hopping in Athens.
After three eventful days, it’s time to say goodbye to Athens. After checking out of the hotel, we transfer you back to Athens Airport or the port of Piraeus, according to your flight time/ferry time. Individual journey home or extension of your holiday.
