Adventure Combo Paros, Naxos, Santorini

Explore three famous Cyclades islands by boat, bike, kayak, and on foot!

If you are looking to experience typical Greek island life straight out of a picture book, the Cyclades are the place for you! Gleaming white houses with blue shutters, hundreds of chapels, and narrow, labyrinthine-like alleyways determine the architectural character of the island towns. The white sandy beaches nestled between the rocky landscape create striking contrasts with the brilliant blue of the sea.

Our tour leads to the islands of Paros, Naxos, and Santorini, undoubtedly three of the most famous Cycladic islands. In summer, the islands bustle with life. However, by boat, bicycle, kayak, and on foot, it is possible to reach remote areas that few tourists get to see.

Paros awaits its visitors with beautiful sandy beaches and inviting beach bars. The picturesque harbour town of Naoussa is especially worth a visit. Here, the Cycladic-style houses huddle around the colourful fishing harbour giving the island’s second-largest town a truly unique charm.

Naxos is the largest and most fertile of the Cycladic islands. Those passionate about culture get their money’s worth here. Explore the impressive Portara of Naxos, also known as the Great Door. This ancient entrance gate to the temple of Apollo is considered the island’s most important landmark.

Last but not least, the tour leads to Santorini – deservedly called the Queen of the Aegean. A massive volcanic eruption in the 16th century BC created the island’s truly distinctive landscape. This eventful tour combines activity, culture, adventure, fun, and variety and is therefore especially suitable for families.

Highlights

  • Postcard-perfect Greece: pure Cycladic idyll awaits you on all three islands.
  • Water paradise: Experience the islands from the sea by kayak and fishing boat!
  • Decked in white: The islands of Naxos and Paros are almost entirely made of marble.
  • Delicious delicacies: The fava puree, made from yellow beans, is a special treat.
  • Divine wines: Naxos and Santorini are home to some of the best wines in Greece.

Dates
This tour operates from April to November and requires a minimum of 2 participants.

You can start it any day and choose between a self-guided option, where you do the hikes on your own with the help of maps that we provided, or a guided option with a local guide (see services).

The other activities (bike tour, kayak tour, and boat trip) are guided in both variants.

DAY 1
Arrival on Paros | The tour starts on the island of Paros. You can reach the island by plane or ferry. The ferry and flight connections from Athens to Paros vary depending on the time of year you are travelling. The domestic flight takes about 45 minutes, the ferry takes between 3 and 5 hours.

Once you arrive on the island, you take a short transfer to your hotel which is located in the charming harbour town of Naoussa. Here you will spend the next three nights.

DAY 2
Paros: Hike along the ”Byzantine Trail” to Logaras | The day begins with a short transfer inland to Lefkes, one of the oldest settlements on the island. Here there is time to stroll through the traditional village before beginning our hike along the ‘Byzantine Trail’.

The delicious scent of wild, aromatic herbs and Mediterranean plants accompanies us on our relaxed hike past olive groves and vineyards. Once we have reached our destination, the beautiful beach of Logaras tempts us in for a refreshing swim. Afterwards, we return to the hotel in Naoussa.

DAY 3
Paros: Boat trip on board a traditional fishing vessel | Today we enjoy a day of sea air, fun, and swimming stops aboard a traditional fishing boat. The captain welcomes us on the boat and, depending on the weather, we set sail either to the tiny island of Antiparos or to the south coast of Paros.

Today brings everything from long swimming breaks and cliff jumping, visits to caves and secluded beaches to freshly prepared Greek food and cold drinks. A truly unforgettable day is guaranteed. In the evening we return to Naoussa for a final overnight stay.

DAY 4
Paros to Naxos | After breakfast, a transfer takes us to the port of Paroikia. We bid farewell to Paros and take the ferry to Naxos.

After a short crossing of about an hour, we reach Naxos, the largest and most fertile of the Cyclades islands. A transfer takes us to our hotel, where we will spend the night. Once we have settled in, there is plenty of time to explore the new surroundings independently.

Naxos town captivates with its fortified citadel and a beautifully developed harbour promenade. Stunning sandy beaches are within walking distance. Enjoy the sea air and relax!

DAY 5
Naxos: Hike to Naxos cultural sites | After breakfast, a transfer brings us to Apollonia. Today’s hike starts at the Kouros statue, which stands over 10 metres tall and was once predestined to be placed in an ancient sanctuary.

However, when the sculptors discovered a flaw in the marble, the statue was left unfinished. From the impressive marble figure, we follow the path to the picturesque village of Ano Potamia. After a short refreshing stop at the village’s spring, we walk to Apano Kastro where we enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of Naxos town, the harbour, and the surrounding villages.

We continue via the small village of Tsikalario to Chalki, where we visit the Valindras Distillery and taste Kitron. This local liqueur of protected Naxos origin is made from the leaves of the cedrat tree. Afterwards, we return to Naxos town, where we spend the night again.

DAY 6
Naxos: Bike tour through authentic Naxos | Today we hop on our bicycles and cycle along quiet roads through typical Naxian villages. The rich vegetation of the fertile island surrounds us, and we enjoy beautiful views over the mountains and coastal landscape.

We reach the dreamlike beach of Mikri Vigla with its fine white sand and the bright blue sea via small dirt roads. Here we take a break and enjoy a swim, some food, and drinks. After our time at the beach, we return to Naxos town, where we spend another night.

DAY 7
Naxos to Santorini: Hike along the Caldera Trail | After breakfast, we have time to enjoy the picturesque harbour of Naxos one more time. You are free to choose whether you would like to stroll along the promenade, wander through the town, visit the archaeological museum, or enjoy a refreshing swim in the sea.

Around noon we take the ferry to the Queen of the Cyclades. As we approach Santorini from the sea, we already get an impression of the volcanic island’s beauty. Upon arrival, we head to the hotel.

Once we have settled in, we go on a four-hour hike from the town of Fira along the spectacular caldera to the picturesque village of Oia. Overnight stay on Santorini.

DAY 8
Santorini: Kayak tour along the south coast | After breakfast, we head to the starting point of today’s tour. By kayak, we explore the south coast of the island from the water.

We enjoy views of spectacular rock formations, crystal clear waters, and beautiful beaches. Along the way, we stop to snorkel and dive with plenty of time to enjoy the fascinating underwater world. We return to our hotel and spend our last night on Santorini.

DAY 9
Santorini: Departure day | Our eventful tour ends on Santorini. From here you can plan your onward journey to other islands or the return journey to Athens.

Family-friendly hotels in Cycladic style and beautiful surroundings

The spacious rooms and family flats are equipped with shower/WC and air conditioning and often have a balcony or terrace.

– Large backpack or travel bag for all your luggage.
– Weatherproof jacket/windbreaker with hood (Gore-Tex or similar material recommended)
– Sweatshirts or T-shirts for the activities, at least one with a collar and long sleeves (to prevent sunburn)
– Thick socks for hiking
– Daypack (20-40 litres) for snacks, water, change of clothes, camera etc.
– Warm clothes for the evening (we recommend fleece jumpers that are both warm and light, optional thermal undergarments) – the Cyclades are windy, so it can cool down considerably in the evening
– Extra pair of shoes for the evenings (optional)
– Swimming gear
– Personal sustainable water bottle (at least 1 litre capacity). We are a nature-loving company and strive to avoid plastic waste.
